The Cosmic Wheel of Kindness…Pass It On!

Hey, wanna join the Banana Gang?  Have some fun… take the pledge, wear the t-shirt, and pass on a token of kindnessToken of Kindness”!  Be part of spreading the joy of generosity & kindness!  Kids love passing on the Tokens of Kindness.
The Banana Gang began about 12 years ago when DaMunk (the MunkyMan) began making public appearances.   DaMunk simply asked folks big and small to join the Banana Gang.  There are currently over 1400 members!
This idea began as a unique way for people to reach out and connect with others.  In recognition of random acts of kindness, a “token” is passed on to someone as they perform a kind act.  This sets the “cosmic wheel of kindness” into motion, as tokens are passed on endlessly!  Whenever someone performs an act of kindness hand them a token.
As you pass on a “token of kindness” to someone who has performed a simple kind act, the recipient feels good and so does the donor.  This state of well-being keeps spreading as you feel the benefits within and then with family and community.
Obviously, you do not need a “token of kindness” in order to spread generosity.  Whenever I carry a “token” with me it’s like a wee reminder of how I wish to be in the world.  I’m not talking of huge, heroic deeds, rather, for me, it’s a subtle attitudinal state where I have a choice to smile, say thank you, ask how someone else is doing and really take the time to listen. What a gift!

Have you Heard of Cyber Charities?

Cathypicture.JPGGreetings & welcome to Positively Speaking! Where the world is full of “Infinite Possibilities”!

Today, my story comes out of New York City where any and every thing is possible.

Have you heard of Cyber Charities?  There is a movement a foot, where worthwhile charities are accessing the internet to communicate with communities.

How do you know if they are legitimate?  First, check out their site, see if they have a current charity status designation and an annual audit.  Also, links you can access in Canada or the USA include: the Better Business Bureau; www.give.orgwww.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/charities/menu-e.html.  Word of mouth is also an excellent source, as well as, articles from reputable newspapers and magazines.

While reading the "Globe & Mail" (Toronto, Canada) newspaper, I discovered an article about an innovative cyber charity called Modest Needs.  I went to their website to learn more and as a result, we featured them on our Munky Bytes video.

Joy in a Bowl of Porridge?

The dumbtreeNew English Dictionary describes “joy’ as something that cause’s intense happiness!   I like the idea of "intense happiness" so how do I get to these "somethings" to experience joy?

Remember the movie Oliver Twist? Young Oliver was still hungry after his first bowl of porridge.  He quietly rose from his seat and approached his keeper to say, “more please!”  Was it a joy for him to nourish himself with a simple bowl of porridge.  Did the joy of the experience (eating tasty, sustaining porridge) prompt the request for more or was it simply the need to fill his tummy with food?

About Us

Greetings Fellow Travellers!

We welcome you from beautiful Parksville, British Columbia, Canada!  We have jumped down the “rabbit hole” & entered the field of all possibilities, embracing the wisdom of uncertainty. TwinkleTone Productions is our vehicle of choice.

Our vision is altruistic and we believe that it’s attainable! We want to share the joy that generosity produces. Through  www.joythrugenerosity.com, we’re offering a variety of interesting resources that reflect the social aspects of generosity, integrity, personal growth, environmentally-friendly living, and of course, humour!

In our ever-changing world, baby boomers are taking on roles and responsibilities they have never experienced before, such as, living in a time of rapidly advancing technology; re-energizing our environment and for some, parenting as grandparents.

Our goal is to provide accessible, quality resources to nurture family and extended family life in a spirit of enhanced generosity and resulting joyfulness. We’re dedicated to offering high quality multi-media resources for educators, employers and families, including children’s products.

TwinkleTone Productions was formed by a couple of “joyful” souls, Cathy Loewen and Anthony White. We’re a social purpose enterprise founded on the belief that each of us can enhance our well-being and the planet by spreading joy thru acts of generosity.

Cathy Loewen (BA; Professional Dip. (Ed.); MA (Ed. Psych.); Dip. Filmmaking):
Down the “rabbit hole” I go! My curious nature has taken me on various twists & turns on this path we call life! I come to you with a background in education, community social services and filmmaking.  I’ve been fortunate to work as an educator, counsellor, program manager and filmmaker, to name but a few of my many incarnations. I love creating projects & watching them take off. I’m finding the launch of our new “creation”www.joythrugenerosity.com very exciting!
I have two grown children who are creating adventures of their own, and when I’m not on the computer, I love to run the beautiful trails on Vancouver Island. And oh yeah, I love beating Tony at bocce ball on a regular basis!
Anthony White (ACOA; PTSD?; ADD and Cheerful Leader of the Banana Gang):   Rabbit hole indeed! Risky business this human being thing! And fun too! I recently “graduated” after some 30 years experience in community social service programming and administration. Prior to that, I enjoyed stints in the recording industry and public recreation.  Throughout the Hi Ho Hi Ho journey (I actually do like to sing while I work), I have continued my involvement in the arts through music and theatre. For the past ten years my “MunkyMan” character has mirrored the TTP philosophy of bringing kindness and humour to the young at heart.
I have 3 grown children and three grandchildren (so far!). I thoroughly enjoy most sports, watching old movies with the "Diva" and continue to explore the horizons of personal & spiritual growth with family and friends. Oh yeah, and I love “letting” Cathy win at Bocce ball!

Munky Bytes from Cascadia "Backgrounder"

"Munky Bytes from Cascadia" is a zany series of good news vignettes that introduces our company philosophy thru the lens of a digital camera. The initial family of characters (Juli Ette, Mondo and DaMunk) profile real and imagined good news stories to viewers. In doing so, we demonstrate one example of our "Entertainment and Education Resources".  Any resemblance to real persons or monkeys is unintentinal.

Cascadia pertains to the general geographic region of the Pacific Northwest of North America (an area Blessed with a wide variety of resources). We recently travelled the length and breadth of Cascadia and believe its contribution to joy thru generosity knows no limits. We live within its boundaries and it's a really neat place to call home.  Use of the name in no way implies ownership, affiliation with other groups or any serious political overture.  Nonetheless, we're kind of a "puppet" government, according to Mondo.

Tony DaMunk referred to by some as “MunkyMan", is a playful personality with a bag full of different voices. He is the esteemed leader of the Banana Gang and our "Minister of Kindness & Silly Talking".

Juli Ette is our intrepid (Inter) Net reporter. Always searching for a site with a joyful story, Juli loves the flair of adventure and positive interchange between our planet and its' inhabitants. Juli is our "Minister of Infinite Possibilities" .

Mondo is sort of da Munk's co host….always needing things to be RIGHT!  "No, No, No”! That's about it for Mondo…He shoulda been a Perfector Director! Needless to say, he is our "Minister of Correctness" and token Monkey (no offense to primates is intended).
